Senior Vice President of Business + Social Purpose, Edelman

Jennifer recently joined Edelman from the White House, where she served as the director of international affairs for First Lady Michelle Obama. In this capacity, she led the development and execution of the First Lady’s international affairs agenda, including the First Lady’s signature Let Girls Learn initiative, focused on global girls’ education; as well as Mrs. Obama’s solo international travel, events and engagement; and travel and events with the President. Jennifer advised Mrs. Obama on the Administration’s international and domestic policy priorities, as well as advanced the First Lady’s outreach and partnerships with key private sector and stakeholder groups. Domestically, in 2013 Jennifer co-led the development of the First Lady’s Reach Higher initiative, which encourages and supports youth in the United States to achieve higher education.

Meighan currently serves as President of Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai's Malala Fund, working to empower girls globally to achieve their potential through a quality secondary education. She is on the Board of social entrepreneur startup Pencils of Promise and has led high-level projects with Bono's ONE Campaign, the United Nations, Clinton Global Initiative, World Economic Forum, FIFA World Cup and with world leaders and corporations globally. Meighan believes communities can and must equip women to be powerful forces for change. She hopes to encourage girls and women to speak up, take action and serve in excellence. She could also use a nap.
